The Art Glass Association of Southern California (AGASC) was founded in 1981 by a group of local San Diego County glass artists wanting to promote interest in and educate the public about, all areas of glass art. This small group of founders has grown into a 200 member association. The group is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting all fields of glass art; from the traditional stained glass that adorns many of the  local churches and synagogues, repair and refurbishing of antique stained glass pieces, mosaic, glass casting, glass blowing, glass fusing, torch worked glass that is used in the creation of whimsical figures, glass beads and jewelry, sandblasting and etching, to the newest fused forms which resemble paintings created with multiple layers of melted glass.

The AGASC is one of the oldest such groups in the United States. We publish a monthly newsletter which promotes classes, workshops, gallery openings and Art Glass Shows which are available in the San Diego County area. AGASC News also has articles of interest regarding our members and upcoming events within the organization. Our website keeps you current with glass information and workshops. AGASC sponsors an annual juried art show, held at Spanish Village, in Studio 21, each year from November 1-14 which is open to all AGASC members. We offer prizes in a variety of categories and encourage novice glass artists to participate in a special category dedicated to the new student's achievement. The AGASC is proud to offer our members the opportunity to work, teach and sell their products through our Art Glass Guild in the Spanish Village Center for the Arts at Balboa Park, Studio 25. The Guild offers demonstrations and classes on a periodic basis and is proud to have more than 36 artists' work represented at this location. Studio hours are 11AM-4PM daily. Phone (619) 702-8006.
