WHY WE'RE DIFFERENT

glass artists, each one volunteering to work one day per month.


*Classes are offered to fit a variety of schedules.

*Some Artists offer flexible days and times for teaching.

*All prices include materials and use of tools and equipment.

*Most classes are private one on one lessons.

*Each class is geared just for you and goes at your pace.

HOW IT WORKS:

1)Pick a topic.

2)Pick a day.

3) Call the teacher to set up a time.

4) Show up and have a fabulous time learning!

 

 

COMBINATION  CLASS

2 day class (Click here for details/prices)

Day 1) You will begin with an all day class in either fusing or beadmaking.   

Day 2) Your beads or fused items will be combined with wirewraping and    

other jewelry techniques so that you will leave with unique

finished wearable artwork!

ETCHING 
3-hour class - $45
Learn how to make your own stencils, then apply them to a variety of glass surfaces.
You will then learn out to etch the stencils onto glass for permanent designs.
Create your own personalized gifts from any glass object.
(Class includes supplies and equipment use)

 

FUSING 1

3-hour class - $75

Learn basic fusing safety as well as glass compatibility and techniques needed

for making your own jewelry and small fused pieces.

Each student will make either a small fused suncatcher or pendant and earrings.

Students must come on a following day to pick up finished work.
(Class includes supplies and equipment use)

FUSING 2
2 meetings, 6-hours total - $95
Students will learn how to take the basics from Fusing 1,
and apply them on a larger scale.  Learn multi-layering firing techniques
and larger item firing schedules.  Students may explore the use of
stringer, frits and dichroic glass to give their items more depth.
Items may be fused one day, and slumped the next.
Students must arrange firing and slumping times with teacher, and be prepared to
come in a 3rd time to pick up finished work.
(Students may need to purchase some glass, tools and kiln use are included)
(Prerequisite: Fusing 1)

GLASS BEADMAKING  I  
3-hour class - $75
(hours flexible, contact instructor) 
Find out how glass beads are made and if it is something you want to do!
Learn basic safety on the torch and how glass is melted and turned into beads!
You will pull stringers and twisties and use them to decorate beads. 
This class is for someone who has not made beads on a torch before.

GLASS BEADMAKING  II

3-hour class - $75

(hours flexible, contact instructor)

So now you think you want to learn and play a little more!
This class is a continuation of  “Glass Beadmaking  I” but with more time spent on the techniques used to make a round bead;
controlling the flame and applying the glass; making dots, layering dots, and poking dots. Prerequisite: Glass Beadmaking I
(Class includes all supplies and equipment use) 

 

 

GLASS BEADMAKING  III

3-hour class - $75

 (hours flexible, contact instructor)

 You are really getting hooked on making beads now and want more information!
Learn to make other shapes, like a barrel, triangle or maybe a heart!
See how you can use tools to shape a bead and use the flame to help, or maybe try encasing, frits or foils.
 Prerequisite: Glass Beadmaking I & II

JEWELRY MAKING

If you have collected lots of beads and "parts" but don't know what to do with them,
this is the class for you!!  We show you the basics of putting together jewelry from start to finish.
We will show you how to string, add toggles, clasps, finish earrings, add beads and found parts, repair
things and even take apart old stuff and remake it, better than before!! 
Students are encouraged to bring odds and ends and pictures of what they want to make.

 PMC 1  (PRECIOUS METAL CLAY) 

One day class - $95
4-6 hours studio time plus 2 hour lunch break 

(first Friday's of every month)

PMC is a clay made of fine silver and binders. 

Once you fire it, all the binders burn away leaving you with a finished piece of fine silver (99% pure silver).

In this introductory class, you will learn how to shape and move the clay to design your

own one of a kind pendant!

(Class includes PMC clay and use of all tools and kiln)  

 

 

PMC 2 (PRECIOUS METAL CLAY)

2 meetings, 6 hour total class - $125

(first Friday's of every month)

In this class, you will be taught how to incorporate glass into your PMC.

You will be shown how to manipulate the PMC with the glass to accomadate a glass cabochon.

Various techniques and firing schedules will be explored, with emphasis on

expansion and contraction in regards to PMC and glass.
(Class includes all PMC supplies and use of tools and kiln)

PMC CHARMS

6 hours - $125

(includes 2 hour lunch break for firing)
Make your own fine silver charms for your chain mail bracelet, or for your own bracelets.

Be creative as you design your own textures and shapes for one of a kind charms!

(Class includes enough PMC to make 4 charms and use of all tools and kiln)

(Prerequisite: PMC 1, Intro to PMC)

 

 

STAINED GLASS 1

3-hour class- $45
Students will learn how to make a glass pattern, then how to cut, grind and clean the glass.

Glass is then wrapped with copper foil and soldered together to create your very own suncatcher!

Students will learn basic Stained glass safety in regards to glass cutting, soldering and handling of

chemicals and tools.

STAINED GLASS 2

3-hour class- $45

Students will learn how to make a glass pattern, then how to cut, grind and clean the glass.

Students will then learn how to cut and apply lead came to glass pieces, and then solder,

to create larger stained glass windows.

Students will learn basic Stained glass safety in regards to glass cutting, soldering and handling of

all chemicals and tools.

WIRE WRAPPING 1

We will bend and shape wire and add beads, dangles and charms, to make your own bracelet or anklet in this class.

Each student will leave with finished jewelry.

WIRE WRAPPING 2

Learn how to bend and hammer wire to make your own earrings,toggles, clasps, rings and dangles!

Students are encouraged to bring their own "stuff" (beads, drops, founds items)

to incorporate into their own personal finished pieces. We will make coil beads, spirals and caged beads

to create your own unique bracelet and earring set or necklace.

Each student will leave with finished jewelry.
